Beauty Bakerie

Beauty Bakerie takes a novel approach to a crowded cosmetics industry by naming its products after baking ingredients, such as breakfast in bed eyeshadow palette, lollipop liner, and milk & honey enhancing palette.

It uses a Custom Shopify Theme and still slays when it comes to navigation and layout.  It has more than 139.8K visitors per month, and a bounce rate of 60%.

However, there are a few matters you should consider when developing your website.

Beauty Bakerie uses a very smooth color palette, which gives a sweet feeling to users. As the majority of them are women, this is very suitable! Unfortunately, what took our attention is, that, the homepage has too much coloring and information. This might be oversaturated for users, and might not meet customers’ expectations!

Furthermore, the website has a Full-Screen photo layout, but it does not load! One positive thing is that they used the ALT tag when coding the website, to give a sign that there is a picture there that needs to be loaded. But the disadvantage is that it doesn’t load, and this overcomes all the positives!

Let’s skip to the advantages now. And of course, these are all great to take examples from!

First, the navigation! They use a horizontal fly-out menu, but not an ordinary one! This menu presents photos from the product type that is under a specific category, and even under each sub-category. This is very user-friendly and it adds value.

Beauty Bakerie’s header gives users additional information about promotions, like, “Free shipping on orders over $150”. Also, once you enter the dropshipping store, there’s a pop-up offering promotion, with a huge eye-catchy colorized banner.

Second, all other navigation elements are in place. Starting from the logo, which is a link serving as a link leading customers to the homepage, then the log in/ sign up, the shopping cart, and search button.

The content on the website is organized by using a grid of card layouts. This technique is an excellent choice if you are a dropshipping store selling multiple types of products, and having so much other content to share on your home page!

Beauty Bakerie uses buttons all over the homepage, like “Shop now” or “Store locator”,” Listen here”, etc. They emphasize them by using different coloring from the background. But not all of them are links leading to a specific landing page. For example, the button “ Listen here” and “Store Locator” does not lead customers anywhere, but to the homepage. This might lower customer satisfaction, so be careful!

This dropshipping store provides content that shows social care, like, FAQs, Contact info, Help, Gift cards, Blog, Podcast, High contrast mode, Privacy policy, etc.Their footer is also a good example, consisting of information about the social presence, customer care, working hours, contact, etc. But if you want to add additional value to customers, and boost your SEO results, you might want to add more information there, for example, links from your main categories.
